Common issues

Last updated 15 August 2026

Most hiccups have a simple cause. Here are the ones we see most and how to clear them.

Can't sign in

ArtistHQ supports three ways in: Continue with Google, an email magic link, and email + password. Use whichever you set up.

  • Make sure you're using the same method and email you signed up with. If you created your account with Google, sign in with Google — there's no password on that account unless you added one.
  • If your magic link doesn't work, it has probably expired or been used already. Request a fresh one and open the newest email.
  • Forgot your password? Use the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in screen to reset it, or manage it later in Settings -> Security.
  • If you turned on two-factor authentication (2FA), you'll be asked for a code from your authenticator app after your password. Lost your device? Email us and we'll help you recover access.

An upload was rejected

If a file won't upload, it's usually one of these:

  • It's a blocked file type (for example, an executable).
  • The file is too large.
  • You're over your storage limit. See Plan limits & storage for what counts and how to free up space.

"Couldn't save" when you try something

This message almost always means your role doesn't have permission for that action. Ask an owner or admin to do it, or to adjust your access. See Inviting your band & roles for who can do what.

A "payment past due" banner

That banner means a recent charge failed. Click Update payment method in the banner (or open Settings -> Subscription) to fix your card, and the charge will retry — your plan stays active while you sort it out. For more on plans and payments, see Plans, billing & cancellation.

The page looks out of date, or shows a white screen

This usually happens right after we ship an update while you had a tab open: your browser is still holding the old version. ArtistHQ detects a stale page and reloads itself once to pull the fresh build, so most of the time it fixes itself. If a page ever looks broken or blank, a manual refresh clears it.

Installing ArtistHQ like an app

ArtistHQ is an installable web app (PWA) — there are no separate iOS or Android downloads. In a supported browser, use Add to Home Screen (mobile) or the install icon in the address bar (desktop) to pin it. It opens in its own window, full-screen, just like a native app.
